Israeli-Palestinian: Evil or Context?
Welcome back to the Real Clear Podcast with me, Lucas Klein. Today's episode is a tough one for me to record because I'm feeling demoralized and depressed. We live in a world where subjectivity and context seem to rule, and there is a lack of acknowledgment of evil and bad actions. This mindset is particularly prevalent in academia and is reflected in the equivocation between the actions of Hamas and the Israeli people.
I want to make it clear that we are witnessing a struggle between contextualism and subjectivity versus empiricism and objectivity. This is not just a response to the recent atrocities committed by Hamas, but a long-standing trend in academia. The idea that there are no bad actors, only context, is deeply troubling.
I'll be discussing some difficult examples today to highlight why it is wrong to equate the Israeli people and the IDF with Hamas and the actions of the Palestinians. The recent massacre by Hamas is truly horrifying, and it is disheartening to see the denial and equivocation in the Western world regarding these acts.
We need to ask ourselves whether there is such a thing as evil in the world or if everything can be explained by context and positionality. This question is crucial in distinguishing between classical reasonable people and the modern radical left.
I'll be sharing some disturbing details of the Hamas massacre, including the dissection of a pregnant woman's body and the murder of babies. These acts are reminiscent of the barbarism of Genghis Khan. If we believe that context is the only explanation for such actions, then we are acknowledging that the Palestinian culture that gave rise to Hamas is regressed and primitive.
It is essential to remember what actually happened and who instigated this war. The left and the media will likely move away from the memory of the atrocities committed against the Jewish state and its people. We must seek out reliable sources and not let Google suppress our access to reality.
The situation is complex, and the Palestinian people are suffering greatly. The IDF has to eradicate Hamas, which will come at a great cost to Gaza and its people. It's a terrible reality of war, and there is no easy solution.
I apologize for the downbeat tone of this episode, but it's a time to be sober and judicious. Stay well, and I'll talk to you soon.
