Election Day
Hello members and fans of Real Clear. Well, it's election day! I always advise having fun with Nov 5. If the results go your way, great. If they don't, well...that's life, isn't it? We still have to make the coffee on the 6th, feed and walk the dog, head out to work, and carry on. Oh, and we have to find a way to love one another, or at least embrace the features of others that we love. I'm not sure that is possible in America at present, but I think we should try.
Here are a few resources for you:
The first results are in! Dixville Notch in NH is a 50/50 split! This is a change from 2020 when Biden won all 6 votes in the tiny 6 person town, which has voted at midnight as the first in the nation since 1960.
Here is Fox's election status map. You can check it obsessively throughout the day and evening. I will be checking in between sessions today. I think we might know a decisive winner by the close of election day polls. We will have about 150 million voters casting ballots this year.
Deciders: Of course PA is the prize, but I'm keeping an eye on Michigan as it changes the map entirely if it flips. The sunbelt and most southern battleground states are a lock, though I suppose it will be interesting to see Nevada defy the polls and swing to Trump.
Wild cards: New Hampshire, Kansas, and Virginia could be unpredictable.
